Emmy Awards Move to Prime Video in 2027 With Free Viewing
The six-year agreement replaces the ceremony’s rotating broadcast networks. The announced plan offers free viewing without a Prime subscription in more than 240 countries and territories.

One home replaces four rotating networks
The Television Academy and Prime Video announced a six-year agreement making Prime Video the exclusive global home of the Emmy Awards beginning with the 2027 ceremony.
The agreement replaces the ceremony’s rotation among ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. The Academy says that arrangement ended with the 2026 telecast. For viewers, the change means a single destination for the awards throughout the new agreement.
Free access, with the live September schedule preserved
According to the announcement, viewers will be able to watch free on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, without a Prime subscription. That makes the move a change in viewing platform without adding a subscription charge for the ceremony under the announced terms.
The Academy says the Emmys will continue to air live in September. The announced shift therefore changes where audiences watch while preserving the ceremony’s live format and usual month.
