Pinterest Launches Beauty Guides for Hair and Nail Pins

The feature adds salon terminology and appointment-planning details to beauty images. Pinterest says it is available to iOS users in the United States.

From a beauty image to an appointment plan

Pinterest announced Beauty Guides on October 6, 2026, turning hair and nail Pins into guidance for salon visits or home use. The company says the feature is available to U.S. users on iOS, Apple’s mobile operating system.

Users open the feature through a Get the Guide button on a hair or nail Pin. Pinterest says they can save the resulting guide for an appointment or use it at home.

According to TechCrunch, the guides include salon terminology, estimated appointment timing, price ranges and maintenance requirements. Those details can help users describe a look and consider the time, cost and upkeep involved.

How Pinterest Beauty Guides generate advice

Pinterest says the feature combines technology that interprets images with a large language model, a type of artificial intelligence that generates text. Together, the systems analyze details in hair and nail images and turn them into written guidance.

The practical shift is from a visual reference to information users can bring into a salon conversation. Timing estimates and price ranges offer planning context; they should be read as estimates rather than a confirmed appointment length or quoted price.

Pinterest says it plans to expand Beauty Guides to more people, regions and product categories. For now, its stated availability is limited to U.S. iOS users.
