Apple sets iPhone Duo preorders for October 16
The foldable iPhone Duo pairs an outer screen with a larger inner display for multitasking. Apple says its Siri AI features are rolling out in an English-language beta.

Preorder timing and options
Apple announced that preorders for its foldable iPhone Duo begin October 16, 2026, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time. The company lists apple.com and the Apple Store app as the ordering channels.
Apple lists two color options: star white and night sky.
What folding changes on iPhone Duo
The phone has a 5.4-inch outer display. Apple says that screen provides 90 percent of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro when the Duo is closed.
Open the phone, and the inner display offers 50 percent more screen area than iPhone 18 Pro Max, according to Apple. The comparisons use different reference phones: iPhone 18 Pro for the outer screen and Pro Max for the inner screen.
Apple says the Duo supports Split View multitasking, which divides the display so users can work with content side by side. Its interface also adjusts as the phone folds, rotates or switches between screens, according to the company.
Siri alongside an app, with beta limits
Apple describes one use for the larger inner screen: keeping Siri AI open alongside an app and asking about onscreen content. That would let users view the app while using the assistant.
Apple says Siri AI is rolling out in English with iOS 27, its iPhone software. It is a beta, meaning a version still being tested. Buyers interested in that feature should keep its beta status and English-language rollout in mind.
