Bee’s new devices offer two ways to capture conversations
Amazon-owned Bee announced Frontier and Eclipse on October 15, 2026, its first new devices since the acquisition. Frontier is available on Amazon for $74.99. Eclipse costs $99.99 and is described as coming soon, with no specific release date.
Bee devices use artificial intelligence to turn conversations into written transcripts, summaries and information users can revisit. Frontier fits in a wristband or attaches with a clip, while Eclipse attaches magnetically to a smartphone.
Frontier replaces the $50 Pioneer, which is no longer available to buy. The replacement is smaller and lighter, but brings a higher purchase price.
Amazon gives Frontier an IP67 rating for resistance to dust and water; Engadget reports that Pioneer lacked water resistance. Frontier keeps its predecessor’s estimated seven-day battery life and USB-C charging. Bee promises more than 21 days of battery life for Eclipse.
The purchase price and subscription cover different features
TechCrunch reports that all Bee devices include free conversation summaries and recaps, with 14 days of memory. Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month and includes unlimited conversation summaries, suggested to-dos, daily memories and conversation templates.
The new desktop app also requires Pro. It supports Mac and Windows and lets users view recaps, chat and create additional transcripts from their computer. That makes the subscription relevant to buyers who want to work with their conversations at a desk.
New customers receive 30 days of Bee Pro. Founder Maria Zollo said early customers would keep their existing features free forever, Engadget reported, while newly announced features require Pro.
Optional Amazon connections give conversations another use
According to Bee and Amazon, Pro adds optional connections to Amazon.com and Alexa+. Users who opt in can receive shopping recommendations based on conversations and ask Alexa for Bee summaries and to-dos.
Those connections extend Bee’s existing support for Gmail, Google Calendar and Apple’s HealthKit. The Amazon additions give users another way to retrieve conversation details—and allow those details to inform shopping recommendations if enabled.
Amazon says Bee processes audio as it comes in and deletes it afterward. It also says transcripts are encrypted—protected using device-controlled keys—and users can delete transcripts and summaries. These are Amazon’s descriptions of the privacy protections.
For buyers, the immediate choice is Frontier, since Eclipse still has no release date. Beyond the device’s price, the practical question is whether free recaps meet their needs or whether desktop access and optional Amazon connections justify the monthly Pro fee.
