Apple Opens HomeView Preorders, With Availability Scheduled for November 13

The smart display offers music, calls and home controls. Apple says personal Siri features require a compatible paired iPhone or iPad.

A black tabletop display with a dark screen and gray fabric-covered sides sits on a stainless steel kitchen island beside a smartphone. A mug, wooden cutting board and fruit bowl sit farther back, with cookware, shelves and pendant lights in the background.

A shared screen with two placement options

Apple introduced HomeView on October 13, 2026, and opened preorders the same day. Availability is scheduled for November 13, 2026. The Verge reports a $299 price for either the tabletop or wall-mounted model.

Apple describes HomeView as a 7-inch Liquid Retina display for playing music, making FaceTime calls and managing smart home devices. Buyers can choose a tabletop version with a speaker base or a separate wall-mounted version.

The tabletop model comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. The wall-mounted model offers silver and space gray, giving buyers fewer color choices at the same reported price.

HomeView’s personal Siri features depend on a paired device

Apple says HomeView recognizes up to six people and gives each a personalized Home Screen with apps and widgets. That allows a shared display to present different screens for different household members.

The Siri artificial intelligence (AI) features have a separate device requirement. Apple says users without an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence can still use Siri AI for general knowledge, conversations and music discovery.

Pairing a compatible iPhone or iPad adds access to personal context, Apple says. Here, that means using relevant information from Messages and Calendar, along with taking actions across apps. Buyers seeking those personal responses therefore need a paired device that supports Apple Intelligence.

Apple also sets conditions for displaying private content. HomeView must recognize the enrolled user’s face, and their paired iPhone or iPad must be present and recently unlocked. Recognition alone is therefore insufficient to show personal Messages or Calendar content, under Apple’s stated rules.

Home controls depend on accessory compatibility

Apple says HomeView supports accessories compatible with Works with Apple Home and Matter. Those compatibility labels matter when choosing devices: supported lights, thermostats, locks and blinds can be controlled through touch or voice.

For buyers, the practical distinction is between shared home functions and access to personal information. Apple describes music, calls and home controls as core uses, while personal Siri features require a compatible paired device. Preorders are open ahead of the scheduled November 13 availability date.
