PS5 release moves beyond the original 2026 window
Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 (PS5) on January 26, 2027, according to The Verge and Engadget. The date pushes its arrival beyond the 2026 release window previously announced by developer Playground Games.
The racing game is set in Japan and debuted on Xbox and PC in May 2026. The revised schedule means PS5 players will wait until the following calendar year to join.
Premium offers an earlier start and expansion access
According to Engadget, Playground will offer a PS5 Premium Edition with up to five days of early access, as it does on Xbox and PC. That allows Premium buyers to begin playing before the regular launch, though “up to” does not promise a full five days.
Engadget also reports that a trailer announces the game's first expansion—additional game content—will arrive alongside the PS5 version. Access to that expansion is included in the Premium Edition.
Players have other ways to get the expansion, according to Engadget: standard-edition owners can upgrade to Premium or purchase the expansion separately. That gives buyers interested in the added content a choice beyond buying Premium from the start.
